Marriage is a life-long commitment so the decision must be taken carefully, whether it love marriage or arranged marriage while you are getting married. Both love and arranged marriage have their pros and cons. Let us discuss it below-

Love Marriage

In love marriage, couples know each other for a long time so they have an understanding between them which is very important to have in married life. The decision to choose their life partner is totally in their hands. Generally, there is equality in love marriages as couples understand each other well.

On the opposite side, Love marriages are not accepted socially in some parts of India. They believe in caste marriages rather than marriage in another caste. It is also keep in mind that love is not everything, one should also check the family background, their environment in which they have grown, economic condition, etc in love marriage. 

Arranged Marriage

In Arranged one, the decision to get married to the right person is taken with the consent of family members. Parents inquire about each other’s family and their background. Arranged marriage works properly when both the person understand and adjust with each other’s family.

In old-time, women didn’t have choice to whom she would be married, even women didn’t even know the man before the marriage. But time has changed, as now arranged marriage is done with the consent of both the life partners and their family.

On the other hand, in the name of arranged marriages, forced marriages are prevalent in India. Couples don’t know each other very well as they have spent less time with each other before an arranged marriage.
